Hosting Compatibility Policy

24web.es — Hosting Service Policy

1. Scope of Service

24web.es provides web hosting services intended to allow customers to install, operate and maintain websites and web applications, including websites built using WordPress and associated themes, plugins and third-party software.

Our service provides hosting infrastructure on an “as is” basis, subject to the applicable hosting terms and conditions. While our hosting environment may support WordPress and many commonly used plugins and themes, we do not guarantee that every WordPress installation, plugin, theme, extension or combination of software will function correctly or be suitable for every website.

2. Responsibility for WordPress and Plugin Compatibility

The installation, configuration, operation and compatibility of WordPress, its themes and its plugins are primarily the responsibility of the customer and/or their appointed website developer.

WordPress websites can vary significantly depending on their configuration, installed plugins, themes, PHP version, database requirements, third-party integrations, external APIs and other technical dependencies.

It is the responsibility of the customer or their developer to determine whether the hosting service and its available resources are appropriate for the intended website and whether the selected software will operate correctly within that environment.

As a hosting provider, 24web.es does not generally assess, certify or guarantee that a particular plugin, theme, website design or combination of applications is the best technical solution for a customer’s individual requirements.

3. Developer Testing and Due Diligence

Before installing or deploying a website, plugin, theme or significant software update, the customer or their appointed developer should undertake appropriate testing to establish suitability, compatibility, stability and performance.

Such testing may include, where applicable:

  • Compatibility with the installed version of WordPress.
  • Compatibility between plugins and the active theme.
  • Compatibility with the PHP version and other software components available on the hosting platform.
  • Database, memory, storage and processing requirements.
  • Requirements for cron jobs, scheduled tasks, background processing or server configuration.
  • Compatibility with third-party services, external APIs, payment gateways, email systems and other integrations.
  • Security, performance, accessibility and functionality testing.
  • Testing following software updates, migrations or configuration changes.

The developer is responsible for identifying and resolving conflicts, errors or limitations arising from the website’s design, configuration, code, plugins, themes or third-party dependencies.

Where appropriate, testing should be performed in a staging or development environment before changes are applied to a live website.

4. No Guarantee of Third-Party Software Functionality

WordPress, its plugins, themes and associated extensions may be developed, distributed, maintained or supported by independent third parties over whom 24web.es has no control.

We do not warrant or guarantee that third-party software will be available, maintained, secure, compatible, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. We are not responsible for changes made by third-party developers, discontinued products, licence restrictions, compatibility issues, software defects or failures resulting from third-party updates.

The fact that a plugin or theme can be installed does not mean that it will function correctly, that all of its features will be available or that it is compatible with other software installed on the customer’s website.

Customers are responsible for reviewing relevant third-party documentation, licensing conditions, technical requirements and support arrangements.

5. Hosting Support and Technical Boundaries

Our support is principally concerned with the hosting service and its underlying infrastructure, subject to the features and support arrangements included in the customer’s hosting package.

Where reasonably possible, we may assist with identifying whether an issue appears to relate to the hosting environment. However, we are not generally responsible for diagnosing, debugging, modifying or repairing WordPress installations, plugin code, themes, custom scripts or website-specific functionality.

Unless expressly included in a separate agreement, our hosting service does not include:

  • WordPress development or website design.
  • Plugin or theme installation, configuration or customisation.
  • Troubleshooting conflicts between plugins or themes.
  • Debugging PHP errors or correcting third-party or custom code.
  • Modifying software to make it compatible with the hosting environment.
  • Guaranteeing the operation of particular plugin features.
  • Testing or certifying a website’s suitability for a particular hosting platform.
  • Providing developer support for third-party products.

Any additional assistance offered outside the agreed hosting service is discretionary and may be subject to separate charges or service terms.

6. Website Performance and Resource Usage

Website performance depends on multiple factors, including the quality of the website’s code, plugin efficiency, database design, caching configuration, traffic levels, external services and the resources consumed by the website.

24web.es does not guarantee a particular website speed, response time or level of performance for individual WordPress installations or plugins unless expressly agreed in writing.

Customers and developers are responsible for ensuring that their websites operate within the resource limits and technical restrictions applicable to their hosting package.

Where a website or plugin causes excessive resource consumption, instability, security risks or disruption to other services, 24web.es may take reasonable measures in accordance with its hosting terms and applicable law.

7. Updates, Maintenance and Backups

Customers are responsible for maintaining their WordPress installations, themes and plugins, including applying appropriate updates, security patches and compatibility checks.

Updates can introduce new features, alter technical requirements or cause conflicts with other software. Customers and developers should assess the risks of updates and maintain appropriate backups before making significant changes.

Unless expressly included in the hosting package or agreed separately, 24web.es does not guarantee the compatibility of updates or undertake responsibility for restoring website functionality following an update, plugin failure, configuration change or software conflict.

Customers should maintain independent, current backups of their website files, databases and relevant configuration information.

8. Third-Party Support and Licensing

Customers are responsible for obtaining any required plugin, theme or software licences and for complying with the applicable terms of the relevant software providers.

Where a problem relates to the internal operation of a plugin, theme or third-party integration, the customer may need to contact its developer or supplier for assistance.

24web.es cannot guarantee that third-party developers will provide support, release updates or resolve reported defects.

9. Customer Acceptance and Limitation of Responsibility

By using the hosting service to operate WordPress or other website software, the customer acknowledges that website development, software selection, configuration, compatibility testing and ongoing maintenance are separate responsibilities from the provision of hosting infrastructure.

To the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to the other terms of the hosting agreement, 24web.es shall not be responsible for losses, interruptions, data loss, website malfunction or additional costs arising from incompatible plugins, themes, software defects, incorrect configuration, unsupported applications or the customer’s failure to undertake appropriate testing and maintenance.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or any rights the customer may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.

10. Policy Interpretation

This policy should be read together with the general Terms and Conditions of 24web.es and any specific service agreement applicable to the customer’s hosting package.

24web.es reserves the right to amend this policy where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law and any notice requirements imposed by the relevant agreement or legislation.
